Visible Skin Refinement

These materials are selected to help skin look smoother, clearer, more even-looking, and more refined. They support visible skin quality while respecting the natural character of the skin.

Niacinamide Explore material

Niacinamide is one of the most recognized skin-supporting materials in contemporary skincare. It is valued because it can support the look of a more balanced, smoother, and more even complexion across many skin types.

We use niacinamide when the goal is visible refinement without making the product feel aggressive. It brings a polished performance character to products focused on tone, texture, and overall skin clarity.

Where it may appear: Refining Gel Serum, Retinal Night Serum, Restorative Barrier Cream, Silky Body Lotion, and select future treatments.

N-Acetyl Glucosamine Explore material

INCI: Acetyl Glucosamine

N-Acetyl Glucosamine, often abbreviated as NAG, is a skin-conditioning material derived from glucose. It is commonly used in skincare where the goal is a more refined and even-looking appearance.

We use N-Acetyl Glucosamine in products designed for visible refinement. It pairs especially well with niacinamide, helping support a more sophisticated approach to tone and texture.

Where it may appear: Refining Gel Serum, Silky Body Lotion, and select future tone-focused treatments.

Retinal Explore material

Retinal is a vitamin A derivative in the retinoid family. It is related to retinol, but it is generally considered a more advanced form within skincare because of where it sits in the vitamin A pathway.

We select retinal for night-use treatments focused on the appearance of smoother, more refined skin. It supports improved-looking texture, a polished complexion, and a more refreshed appearance over time.

Retinoids can be powerful materials, so the finished product experience matters. Our approach pairs retinal with comfort-supporting materials so the product feels refined in use.

Where it may appear: Retinal Night Serum and select future night-use treatments.

Urea Explore material

Urea is naturally present in the skin as part of the skin’s own moisturizing system. In skincare, it is valued for supporting hydration, comfort, and a smoother-feeling surface.

We use urea where hydration and refinement need to work together. It helps support a more conditioned feel while contributing to the appearance of smoother, better cared-for skin.

Where it may appear: Refining Gel Serum, Silky Body Lotion, and select future hand, body, or texture-focused treatments.

Hydration & Comfort

Hydration is not only about adding water. It is about how a product helps skin feel conditioned, comfortable, and cared for during and after use.

Hyaluronic Acid Explore material

INCI: Sodium Hyaluronate

Hyaluronic acid is naturally found in the body and is widely recognized in skincare for its water-binding character. On ingredient lists, it often appears as Sodium Hyaluronate.

We use hyaluronic acid to support a hydrated, conditioned feel. It helps create a smoother skin impression and can contribute to the fresh, comfortable finish we want in water-based treatments.

Where it may appear: Refining Gel Serum, Retinal Night Serum, and select future water-based treatments.

Panthenol Explore material

Panthenol is a provitamin B5 material often used in skincare for comfort and conditioning. It is known for the way it supports a more cared-for feel in leave-on products.

We use panthenol in products where performance and comfort need to feel balanced. It helps soften the overall skin impression and supports a calmer, more conditioned after-feel.

Where it may appear: Refining Gel Serum, Retinal Night Serum, Restorative Barrier Cream, Silky Body Lotion, and select future treatments.

Betaine Explore material

Betaine is a naturally occurring osmolyte, a type of material associated with water balance. In skincare, it is used for hydration support, comfort, and a more elegant product feel.

We use betaine when we want hydration support without making a product feel heavy. It contributes to the comfort profile of lightweight serums and treatment textures.

Where it may appear: Refining Gel Serum, Retinal Night Serum, and select future water-based treatments.

Sodium PCA Explore material

Sodium PCA is related to the skin’s natural moisturizing factors. It is used in skincare as a humectant material, helping support hydration and a conditioned feel.

We use Sodium PCA when we want a water-based product to feel more complete on the skin. It helps support hydration while contributing to a more polished after-feel.

Where it may appear: Refining Gel Serum, Silky Body Lotion, and select future hydration-focused treatments.

Allantoin Explore material

Allantoin is a skin-comfort material commonly used in products designed to feel soothing and well balanced. It is often included at modest levels because a little can contribute meaningfully to the overall comfort profile.

We use allantoin to help round out the feel of treatment products. It supports a calmer, more cared-for impression, especially in products that also contain performance-focused materials.

Where it may appear: Refining Gel Serum, Retinal Night Serum, Restorative Barrier Cream, Silky Body Lotion, and select future treatments.

Barrier & Skin Feel

These materials help shape the comfort, richness, glide, and after-feel of a product. Some support the skin’s conditioned feel, while others refine the way a product moves, settles, and finishes.

Squalane Explore material

Squalane is a refined emollient known for its elegant, lightweight feel. It is related to squalene, a lipid naturally present in the skin’s sebum, but squalane is the more stable form used in skincare.

We use squalane when we want nourishment without a heavy or greasy finish. It helps support a conditioned, elegant after-feel and works beautifully in products designed for comfort, glide, and refined richness.

Where it may appear: Whipped Body Butter, Retinal Night Serum, Restorative Barrier Cream, Copper Peptide Repair Cream, and select future treatments.

Jojoba Oil Explore material

INCI: Simmondsia Chinensis Seed Oil

Jojoba oil is technically a liquid wax ester rather than a traditional oil. This gives it a distinctive skin feel: smooth, elegant, and less heavy than many richer plant oils.

We use jojoba oil when we want conditioning and glide without overwhelming the finish. It helps support a polished, well-cared-for skin feel in richer body-care and emollient-focused products.

Where it may appear: Whipped Body Butter, Restorative Barrier Cream, Copper Peptide Repair Cream, and select future emollient-rich treatments.

C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate Explore material

C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate is an emollient ester used to improve slip, spread, and finish. It helps products feel more refined on the skin, especially when a formula contains richer oils, butters, or waxy materials.

We use it because luxury texture is not only about richness. It is also about how the product moves, how easily it spreads, and how polished it feels after application.

Where it may appear: Whipped Body Butter, Silky Body Lotion, and select future body-care or cream products.

Coco-Caprylate/Caprate Explore material

Coco-Caprylate/Caprate is an emollient ester often used as a lightweight alternative to heavier-feeling oils. It is valued for its smooth spread, refined glide, and elegant skin finish.

We use it to make richer products feel more polished. It helps soften the feel of butters and oils, allowing the finished product to feel indulgent without becoming overly dense.

Where it may appear: Whipped Body Butter, Refining Gel Serum, Silky Body Lotion, and select future products where refined slip is important.

Dimethicone Explore material

Dimethicone is a non-cyclic silicone used in skincare for slip, comfort, and a smoother-feeling finish. It is different from cyclic silicones such as D4, D5, and D6, which Vyalure avoids.

We use dimethicone selectively when it improves the finished experience. It can help reduce drag, support a more elegant application, and leave the skin feeling smoother without relying on volatile cyclic silicone systems.

Where it may appear: Whipped Body Butter, Silky Body Lotion, and select future treatments where a smoother after-feel is desired.

Meadowfoam Seed Oil Explore material

INCI: Limnanthes Alba Seed Oil

Meadowfoam Seed Oil is a plant oil valued for its elegant feel and natural oxidative stability. It brings a conditioned, refined quality to richer products without making the finish feel overly heavy.

We use it where skin feel and material integrity both matter. It can support the cushion and richness of a product while helping the overall emollient system feel more polished.

Where it may appear: Restorative Barrier Cream, Copper Peptide Repair Cream, Silky Body Lotion, and select future cream or treatment products.

Texture & Structure

Texture is part of performance. These materials help create the body, structure, cushion, and movement of a product, shaping how it feels from first contact to final finish.

Sodium Carbomer Explore material

Sodium Carbomer is a texture-building material used to create smooth, stable, elegant structures in water-based and emulsion products. It can help give a product body without making it feel heavy.

We use Sodium Carbomer where it can shine: in products that need a refined gel-lotion feel, a smooth break, and a polished finish on the skin. It is especially valuable when the goal is a treatment texture that feels elevated but still practical for daily use.

Where it may appear: Silky Body Lotion and select future hand, neck, body, or treatment-lotion products.

Gel PAC-6 Explore material

Gel PAC-6 is a texture system used to create smooth gel-serum structures. It helps provide body, clarity, and a more polished feel in water-based treatment products.

We use it where a serum needs to feel structured without becoming sticky or heavy. It helps create a controlled application, allowing the product to spread evenly and settle with a refined finish.

Where it may appear: Refining Gel Serum, Retinal Night Serum, and select future gel-serum treatments.

Cetyl Alcohol Explore material

Cetyl Alcohol is a fatty alcohol used in skincare and body care to support structure, body, and a more substantial texture. Despite the word alcohol, it is not the same as drying alcohols used for a quick evaporating feel.

We use cetyl alcohol to help create cushion and form. In richer products, it supports structure and contributes to the more polished, intentional feel of the finished product.

Where it may appear: Whipped Body Butter, Silky Body Lotion, and select future cream or lotion products.

MicroSilica Explore material

MicroSilica is a texture and sensory material used to refine the feel of oil-rich and butter-rich products. It can help reduce the perception of heaviness while improving the way the product settles on the skin.

We use MicroSilica when richness needs to feel more polished. In a body butter, it helps the product feel more refined and less overly oily while preserving the plushness customers expect from an indulgent body-care texture.

Where it may appear: Whipped Body Butter and select future oil-rich or butter-rich products.

Cleansing Systems

Cleansing should feel effective without leaving the skin experience harsh. These materials help create cleansing products that balance performance, comfort, foam character, and after-feel.

SLMI Explore material

INCI: Sodium Lauroyl Methyl Isethionate

Sodium Lauroyl Methyl Isethionate is a cleansing surfactant used to create a refined lather and a more comfortable cleansing experience. It is valued in modern cleansing systems because it can cleanse effectively without the harsh feel associated with stronger detergency.

We use SLMI as part of a more elegant cleansing direction. It helps build a cleanser that feels polished in use, with foam that feels smooth and skin that feels better cared for after rinsing.

Where it may appear: Conditioning Body Cleanser, Conditioning Face Cleanser, and select future cleansing products.

Decyl Glucoside Explore material

Decyl Glucoside is a plant-derived nonionic surfactant often used in mild cleansing systems. It can help support cleansing performance while contributing to a more balanced, approachable foam character.

We use it as part of a broader cleansing system rather than relying on one surfactant alone. In a well-built cleanser, each surfactant has a role in the foam, feel, rinse, and overall cleansing experience.

Where it may appear: Conditioning Body Cleanser, Conditioning Face Cleanser, and select future cleansing products.

Caprylyl/Capryl Glucoside Explore material

Caprylyl/Capryl Glucoside is a plant-derived nonionic surfactant often used for solubilizing. In cleansing products, it can help support the incorporation of fragrance or other oil-compatible materials into a water-based system.

We use it where the product needs better integration of sensory materials without relying on PEG-based solubilizers. It supports the overall clarity, uniformity, and sensory balance of the finished cleanser.

Where it may appear: Conditioning Body Cleanser and select future fragranced cleansing products.

Glycerin Explore material

Glycerin is naturally present in the skin’s moisturizing system and is widely used in skincare for hydration support. In cleansing products, it helps improve the comfort profile of the finished experience.

We use glycerin where a product needs to feel more conditioned and less stripping. In cleansers, it helps support the after-feel so the product does not rely only on foam to feel effective.

Where it may appear: Conditioning Body Cleanser, Conditioning Face Cleanser, Refining Gel Serum, Retinal Night Serum, Silky Body Lotion, and select future products.

Product Integrity

Product integrity supports the quality of the finished experience. These materials help protect freshness, support stability, and keep each product aligned with the way it was designed to perform, feel, and finish.

Preservative System Explore material

INCI: Benzyl Alcohol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Tocopherol

Preservation is not an afterthought. Any product that contains water needs protection from microbial growth so the finished product can remain safe and suitable throughout its intended use.

We use a non-formaldehyde-donor preservation system selected for modern cosmetic preservation. It helps protect the product while allowing us to avoid preservation categories that do not align with The Ingredient Approach.

This is part of responsible skincare design. A well-preserved product protects the customer experience, the product’s integrity, and the quality we expect from Vyalure.

Where it may appear: Refining Gel Serum, Retinal Night Serum, Silky Body Lotion, Conditioning Body Cleanser, Conditioning Face Cleanser, and select future water-containing products.

Tocopherols Explore material

Tocopherols are forms of vitamin E. They are used in skincare to support oil-rich materials, emollient systems, and the overall quality of products containing plant oils, butters, and other lipid-based ingredients.

We use tocopherols to help support the integrity of oils and butters while also contributing to the finished skin feel. In richer products, they help protect the character of the emollient system so the product remains polished and well cared for.

The tocopherol family includes alpha, beta, gamma, and delta tocopherols. Each form contributes differently to antioxidant support, which is why a mixed tocopherol profile can be valuable in oil-rich product design.

Where it may appear: Whipped Body Butter, Silky Body Lotion, Restorative Barrier Cream, Copper Peptide Repair Cream, and select future emollient-rich products.

Sodium Phytate Explore material

Sodium Phytate is a chelating material. Chelators help bind trace metal ions that can affect color, scent, clarity, or the quality of a finished product over time.

We use Sodium Phytate where it supports product integrity and overall elegance. It works quietly in the background, helping the finished product remain closer to the experience we intended.

This is one of those materials that may not sound glamorous on a label, but it has a meaningful role in the quality and consistency of a well-built product.

Where it may appear: Refining Gel Serum, Retinal Night Serum, Silky Body Lotion, and select future water-based or emulsion products.

Citric Acid Explore material

Citric Acid is used in skincare to help adjust pH. The pH of a finished product matters because it can influence skin compatibility, product feel, preservation, and overall performance.

We use Citric Acid when a product needs to be brought into its intended pH range. It is not included for marketing appeal. It is included when the finished product needs that adjustment to meet its target profile.

In practice, pH adjustment is handled by measurement, not guesswork. This allows the final product to align with the intended design of the batch.

Where it may appear: Water-based serums, lotions, cleansers, and select future products where pH adjustment is needed.

Fragrance & Sensory Design

Scent is part of the Vyalure experience. It shapes the atmosphere of a product, the memory of use, and the way skincare or fragrance feels complete from first application to final impression.

Fragrance

Fragrance is used as part of the sensory architecture of select Vyalure products. It is not treated as decoration. It has to fit the texture, the product category, and the mood of the finished experience.

We use fragrance where it adds elegance, identity, and atmosphere without overwhelming the product. For customers who prefer fragrance-free care, select products are designed without added scent.

Where it may appear: Whipped Body Butter, Conditioning Body Cleanser, fragrance products, and select future scented launches.

Vyalure Signature

Vyalure Signature is designed as the house scent expression of Vyalure: polished, memorable, and closely tied to the brand’s skin and fragrance experience.

It is created to feel refined across body care and fragrance formats, giving Vyalure a recognizable sensory identity without leaning overly sweet, overly sharp, or overly traditional.

Where it may appear: Whipped Body Butter and select future Vyalure Signature fragrance formats.

Vyalure Elements

Vyalure Elements brings a different atmosphere to the collection. It is designed to feel airy, polished, and modern while remaining connected to the same elevated sensory world.

It gives Vyalure room to express fragrance with nuance: luminous, wearable, and refined enough to complement skincare without making the product feel loud.

Where it may appear: Conditioning Body Cleanser and select future Vyalure Elements fragrance formats.

The Thinking Behind the Formula

Each material has to make sense within the full product: how it feels, how it performs, how it supports the skin experience, and how it contributes to the finished result.
